Motivating Kids

“Do rewards motivate? Yes, they motivate you to get more rewards” -Alfie Kohn. In this session you will learn the basics of motivational psychology and how to use it at home with your kids. We will be talking about using rewards and discipline as motivators and what actually works. With real-life examples and practice you will walk away with a better understanding of how to work WITH your child to get the desired results.

Mindful Parenting

In this 6-week course you will learn how to stay present during the most trying times, how to raise yourself into the parent you want to be, and how to find peace within the everyday and extraordinary chaos of raising children. We will talk about brain science, parenting choices, emotional intelligence, emotion coaching, compassion, boundaries, and so much more. I will share with you resources to practice mindfulness alone or with your kids, we will do coaching activities to illuminate and build on your strenghts, and you will leave with a new way of looking at the hardest job you’ll ever love. If participants are interested, we will also have a closed FB group to further our learning and share our challenges and growth. (Min. 4 people) Space is limited, register today!

Mindfulness Practice

Do you want a community to learn and practice mindfulness? Each week we will do 15-30 min of practice and 10-20 min wisdom talk. I will challenge you to find your edge and help you grow beyond what is currently comfortable for you. We will practice “beginners mind”, body-scans, (self-) compassion, knowing vs. integrating, accessing true joy, acceptance, the wisdom of not knowing and so much more. The goal is for you to live with a feeling of calmness, clarity, and equanimity (okay-ness) with the world around you–even admist the many challenges you face day-to-day. We meet over Zoom on Monday’s at 8:15p. If you can’t make it you will receive a recording of the session. If participants are interested, we can also have a FB group to integrate our practice.
